Monsoon in Sahyadri

The rainy season is the only time you will see the Sahyadri's turn into verdant green. All the ghat areas will be soaked wet, numerous waterfalls cascading at every turn and streams gushing in full flow. 

The season also starts a bustling of various farming activities in all of these regions. Predominantly you will see fields full of people sowing rice.

At the end of the day as the sunlight fades, everyone walks back to their homes usually with a plastic raincoats and the farming equipment in hand. 

On one such day saw these two young kids making their way home with a huge plough on their shoulders. When I asked them, the elder one replied casually that while returning from the fields he saw an elder from the village carrying it back, so just decided to help him out instead of making him carry the weight.
